Have you ever walked into a funeral service where there are no flowers? It’s so dark and it saddens the heart.
Then the flowers arrive and it brightens the soul. Green plants bring freshness of life and renewal and are always a welcome addition to the family home.
Flowers are an exquisite creation that celebrates the life of the departed. People take them home and enjoy them. Family members give them away to the mourners or a care facility.
A bountiful assortment of fresh fruit is always appreciated at the family home to share with family and friends who visit.
In almost 50 years in the floral industry, I have never heard anyone say, “Oh, I wish there were NO flowers there when I attended a funeral.” All I have ever hear is, “Oh, how beautiful the flowers were.” From a single flower to a bountiful basket, flowers express what words can not say. Flowers speak the language of the heart.

Nice Post! Maybe I should buy my wife flowers just for the hell of it!
Yes, Rob, you should buy your wife flowers just for the hell of it!!
I often like to buy my wife flowers just for the hell of it… especially when she’s not expecting them. Even some simple lillies (her favorites) go a long way to me showing her how much she means to me.
That’s a great idea! It’s always great to know what her favorite flower is (in your case lilies) and to surprise her once in a while! I love the occasion called “No occasion!”
Funeral of Maggie Thatcher coming up here (next Wednesday) , and yes of course there need to be flowers at a funeral ! I cant imagine it otherwise, and you are right to remind people
Jana, the world shares with Great Britain in the loss of an amazing lady. I am certain there will be lots and lots of flowers to honor her memory. May her memory be a blessing.
I loved the idea that someone had of sending live plants to a neighbors funeral, his widow was so appreciative she had something to keep as a living memory.
Yes, we do this often. We have many customers that are care facilities. They send plants to the families of people for whom they have given care. The families are always so thankful and they have a long-lasting rememberance of their loved one.
Very beautiful arrangements
You have a very good taste Tina
Thanks, Dov. That is very high praise coming from you.
Your arrangements are always so beautiful!
Thank you so much. We enjoy designing and delivering beautiful flowers & gift baskets.
I love arrangements that include potted plants. Something about knowing that it isn’t just going to shrivel up makes me feel better. ❤
You are not alone, Sasha. Many people choose potted plants over fresh flowers. That’s one of the reasons to contact your local flower shop.
