I’ve always thought pumpkins should still be available in November.
Why? Because I love to make homemade pumpkin pie.
So, here is a slice of pumpkin pie for you to enjoy.
Wasn’t that yummmy?
Here’s another yummmy picture for you!
That’s Harper, my 14 month old granddaughter!
I’d like to see YOUR favorite Pumpkin pictures posted here!

I always leave my pumpkins (that have not been cut up) left out for Thanksgiving. I love the colors thay can bring to your home. And you granddaugher is precious!
If you leave your pumpkins outside (providing they don’t freeze) you can cut them up and bake pies for Thanksgiving! And thanks for the thought about Harper!!
What a cute picture! She looks like she is having a blast in that pumpkin!
It looks like it to me, too!! I can hardly wait to see her tonight!!
Thanks for a light hale and hearty post. Not a fan of pumpkin pie but do like pumpkin soup. Any good recipes?
Yes, Roslyn, I do have a recipe for pumpkin soup! I’ll see if I can find it and send it your way!
I think pumpkins should be available year-round… but then they wouldn’t be special, I guess! Just another squash. Your granddaughter is precious, btw! What a fun photo op!
Pumpkins aren’t available year ’round because they grow seasonally (cool nights and warm days). What I would like is for the grocery stores to continue to offer them after Halloween through Thanksgiving. But they don’t. So, if you want one, you’d better get it today!
Oh, couldn’t help but smile at your pic of Harper! What a cutie! Thanks for sharing these beautiful pic. 🙂
Thanks, Alexandra!! When Lauren sent me this picture (of course by text) I went a little nutso!! Of course I sent it on to my mom and all of my aunts! I never thought of putting a baby into a pumpkin!
I use to love Halloween as a kid. Looks like your granddaughter loves it too!
Thanks, Kelly!! I think she’ll have a blast tonight, too!
Fun Pics! Love pumpkin as well.
Thanks Debbie! I love pumpkin EVERYTHING. I bought mine today!
Of course I loved the photo of Harper! Pumpkins always bring back great memories from my childhood. Having a beautiful floral centerpiece on your table makes your Thanksgiving extra special!!
It looks like Harper should be the centerpiece this year!! Think she’ll sit still?? I doubt it! We’ll have to get flowers after all!!
Thanks for making me smile…Harper in the pumpkin is so cute! Priceless pic!
Thanks Debbie!! She should be a Visa commercial!
omgosh your little granddaughter is super cute in her pumpkin! adorable!!
Fall colors are so beautiful, deep and rich. Thanks for sharing a little piece of your life, your pie and this beautiful arrangement with us.
You are so welcome, Carla. I love sharing the holidays with you. All of you.
I love everything with a pumpkin flavor. I’ll take a piece of that pumpkin pie! Lovely flowers!
I love pumpkin, too! the best part about that pie is it has no calories!
I was wondering if you could use a properly dried pumpkin shell as a support for a flower basket…
I don’t think so because its not waterproof. You would have to dry it and use a liner to hold the water. And a pumpkin that is cut begins to lose its texture and shape almost immmediately. Somehow I don’t think this would work.
Tee-hee… I love the one with your grandaughter. How cute is that!!! 🙂 Pumpkins are strictly for decorations over here!
Thanks, Norma!! I think Harper in the pumpkin IS decoration!! Don’t you bake with pumpkins?
oh my gosh the baby in the pumpkin is awesome.
Thanks! That’s Harper! Tonight she was dressed as Tigger! I hope some of the pictures turned out!
I have beeb seeing so many cute and creative uses and recipes for pumpkins this fall. It has been a fun experience.
Me, too, Janeane! I’ve seen more ideas this year than ever before! We are a creative bunch of ladies!
cute pic of your daughter in the pumpkin! We are making our homemade pumpkin pies this weekend!
Thanks!! I’d love one of your homemade pies! (I’ll make mine Thanksgiving week).
I love pumpkin pie too…and the cute baby 🙂 !!
Thanks, Cindy!! The pie was great, wasn’t it (no calories)? !! And Harper is pretty cute, if I say so myself1
Ha! I love that, what a cutie!
Thanks, Danielle. I can hardly believe she sat still for that picture!
Now that Halloween is over, it’s time for me to make pumpkin butter!
Pumpkin butter? yummm…. Would you please post the recipe here? thanks!!
Such cute pics! I also wish that pumpkins were available in November!
I think they donate the pumpkins to the food banks today. And although I have no problem with that, I wish they were still available for us through Thanksgiving.
LOVE LOVE pumpkin time! from the foods, to the candles, to the decorations… i love me some pumpkin lol
How many pumpkins did you buy this year, Kristyn?
Your granddaughter is too cute! Thanks for sharing her picture 🙂
Thanks, Elizabeth!! Her parents did a great job getting her to sit still for this picture!
I like a little pumpkin pie with my whip cream, LOL. The cornucopia bouquet is beautiful.
I like a little pumpkin pie with my whip cream, too! One little dollop of whip cream just isn’t enough for me!! I’m glad you like the cornucopia. It’s one of my favorite designs to make for Thanksgiving.
I love pumpkins so much and your granddaughter is adorable!
thanks, Katherine!! I’ll bet you think of this picture the next time you eat pumpkin!
Harper looks just too cute in that hallowed out pumpkin!
Thanks, I think so too (but I’m a bit prejudiced!)
It would make sense seeing as pumpkin pie and such are so popular during the holidays!
I agree, Sharon. But they’re all gone now an we have to use canned pumpkin for our pies for Thanksgiving.
I’m a fan of pumpkin too – just finished some great pumpkin waffles from Trader Joe’s. Love their pumpkin bread as well (don’t tell anyone but I stock up on it so I have some even when the season is over 🙂 Delightful picture of Harper – she’s a cutie! Thanks for the fun post.
I won’t tell anyone your secret if you won’t tell mine: I stock up on Girl Scout Cookies so I can put them in gift baskets at Christmas!!
Nice post! Putting your granddaughter in the hallowed out pumpkin is such a creative idea! Who do you make pumpkin pies for?
Thanks, Lori! I make pumpkin pies for everyone I can! I have neighbors. He makes the main dish and I make the desert. (he’s a great cook and I’m a better baker than he is). We trade all year ’round.
